Margate make the short trip down the Thanet Way tonight as they travel to The Crest Stadium to face Herne Bay in the Isthmian South-East.
The ‘Gate suffered a second consecutive league defeat on Saturday as they fell to a 2-1 away defeat at Sevenoaks Town. Herne Bay also come into this fixture having lost their previous fixture, a 3-1 loss away at Faversham Town.
September has proved to be testing for the ‘Gate with just a single win so far in the month, a 1-0 win over Whitstable Town in the Kent Senior Cup.
Herne Bay have enjoyed a promising start to their league campaign having won three of their four league games so far.
There is plenty of cross over between the two sides with players from both sides having played for the other. ‘Gate fans will see former players Joe Taylor, Defender Harrison Hatfull and Goalkeeper Tom Wray in action, whilst former Herne Bay players Johan Caney-Bryan, Bradley Schafer and Finn O’Mara will feature in Blue for the ‘Gate this evening.
Manager Jamie Coyle will welcome back Caney-Bryan and Jake McIntyre to the squad after they missed Saturdays defeat at Sevenoaks Town.
