Margate make the long trip to Sussex this afternoon to face Peacehaven & Telscombe in Isthmian South-East Division action.
It will be the ‘Gate’s second trip to The Window Workshop Sports Park this season having won 4-1 there in August in an Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round tie.
Since then though the ‘Gate have struggled having only won once in September, a GoCardless Kent Senior Cup tie at home to Whitstable Town.
Back to back 2-2 draws at the end of the month at home to Punjab United and then Merstham in the Velocity Cup (losing 7-6 on Penalties) haven’t helped lift the mood.
Injuries and players missing are a theme yet again for Manager Jamie Coyle with Finn O’Mara, Will Thomas, Mikey Dalton, Olu Oluwatimilehin and Perry Iandolo all missing, however there is some welcome news with the return of David Adewoju after he recovered from a hamstring injury.
Margate bolstered their depleted squad on Friday with the loan signing of striker Stanley Oldfield from Chatham Town, whilst Richie Hamill also joins the Blues.
Also linking up with the ‘Gate this weekend will be Hassan Nalbant who made his debut and scored in the midweek Velocity Cup loss against Merstham, whilst Reserves Midfielder David Woodgate is once again named in the squad to travel to Sussex.
Peacehaven and Telscombe have endured a mixed return to Step 4 after winning promotion last season. They have lost their previous two league games, as well as exited the Velocity Cup against Cobham, however a win away at Sittingbourne earlier in September shows they can’t be taken lightly.
They currently sit 16th in the league standings having taken eight points so far.
Margate will wear their away kit for this game with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
