Hatfull: "Time To Right Some Wrongs"
Interview by Reece Hibbird
Article written by Josh Cole
Harrison Hatfull says he is “looking forward to the final” and says “we are ready to right some wrong’s” after last year’s final defeat.
“I’m really excited, obviously we got to a cup final last year but that wasn’t meant to be, but we are here again this year, and we are ready to right some wrong’s, we had our last training session and on a personal note I’m looking forward to it and all the boys are really fired up for it as well”.
Hatfull is particularly fired up for this final after being involved in last year’s Velocity Trophy final defeat against Horsham.
“Last year’s cup final didn’t go as planned at all and I think everyone will agree with that so for the players that were involved in that game last year like myself, it’s kind of payback this year and we don’t want to go to another cup final and come away empty handed, so there is a bit more of a personal aspect to it for players who were involved in last year’s defeat”.
The Margate right back said “it’s important to start the new season with a cup final win under our belts”.
“This season didn’t go to plan, but I think if you look where we were when Reece and Ben took over, I think we have made massive strides in the right direction and its important that we start next season with the momentum of a cup final win, especially with the aspirations we have for next season’s campaign”.
Hatfull admits that the Blues “are well prepared” to deal with the prospect of facing a new challenge and says that “we know some of the boys at Chatham”.
“It will be tricky without the likes of Ruben and Fyn who are cup tied but like I said earlier the boys are all fired up for this game and a lot of us know a lot of the boys at Chatham and yes they are high flying, but we’ve got to look at it a different way because we are in a different league to them”.
The game takes place on Wednesday so make sure you get your tickets by clicking here and join Hatfull and the ‘Gate at Priestfield for the DFDS Kent Senior Cup Final!
