It's the penultimate week for Margate FC Women as they take to the road yet again to face Meridian in the league.
After a rocky few weeks The 'Gate travel with confidence as they sport a full team and are keen to secure three more points. The Blues are currently battling to take 3rd place at the end of the season.
Following last week's defeat, the side cannot now achieve 2nd place in the league. They can however still hold on to hopes of a top three finish, a well-deserved position in the league in what has been an incredible few months for the ‘Gate.
Meridian remain the other end of the table just five points clear of relegation. The home side will no doubt have their eyes on maximising that gap with this being the final fixture in their league campaign and the Blues must remain focused.
When the teams last met it was a depleted Meridian side that scored the first goal, however it didn't take long before the Gate netted four goals in the opposition net to bring the final score to a 4-1 Margate win.
A win this weekend will see Margate move into 4th place drawing level on points with XL Academy, next week's competitors in the final game of the season.
Kick-off is 2pm at the Victory Academy, Maidstone
